Delayed HUD HAP Payments to be Sent to PHAs on June 2, 2026

June 1, 2026 — Earlier today, many housing agencies across the country did not receive Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) for the month of June. Recently HUD sent an email to housing agency executive directors stating that housing agencies would receive the HAP in their accounts tomorrow (June 2, 2026). The Department noted that it “. . . has been working closely with the U.S. Treasury to address the issue.”
NAHRO asks that housing agencies carefully monitor their accounts and let NAHRO know if they do not receive the funding in their accounts tomorrow.

Dear PHA Executive Director,
We are writing to inform you that there has been a delay in the deposit of this month’s Housing Choice Voucher payments. HUD has been working closely with the U.S. Treasury to address the issue. The issue has now been resolved.
As a result of this issue, there is a one-day delay in the processing and receipt of payments. Payments will be deposited into your accounts tomorrow.
