LGBTQ Housing: Advocacy and Practice for Staff and Residents

As PHAs, we provide homes to people of diverse backgrounds, including Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) residents. We are also employers responsible for cultivating safe and inclusive workplaces where staff are valued and supported. This session will explore practical approaches to LGBTQ+ inclusion in housing and employment settings, including onboarding, staff training, resident engagement, and policy development. Presenters will share successful models and best practices that strengthen communication, trust, recruitment, retention, and service outcomes for residents, employees, and community partners alike.
