Thank You NAHRO Family

As I write this final Page 3 column for the NAHRO Monitor, I do so with deep pride in what we have accomplished collectively and great hope for what lies ahead. The 2023–2025 NAHRO Report reflects our intentional work, our collaboration, and our collective impact. It is not simply a reflection of progress, but a legacy of the difference we have made in the lives of people who depend on us, proving that when we unite with intention, we can transform communities.

Leadership is not measured by the steps of one, but by the progress of many moving forward as one community. I am profoundly grateful to my family for their patience and understanding, to my Board of Commissioners, and to the dedicated team at the Fort Wayne Housing Authority. Their support and sacrifice allowed me to serve with focus and purpose. Every day of this journey was strengthened by their generosity, and I carried their belief in me into every room and every conversation.

I am equally grateful for the privilege of working alongside an extraordinary group of NAHRO leaders who aligned their vision with courage and clarity to create NAHRO’s first five-year strategic plan, crafted with intention to guide our shared future. Their wisdom and willingness to embrace change will strengthen this organization long beyond my term. Many thanks also extend to NAHRO staff, whose tireless dedication has been essential in turning vision into action. Their efforts ensured that ideas became initiatives and strategies became measurable impact.

Most importantly, I thank you, our NAHRO members, the community builders who form the heart of this organization. Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of meeting so many of you across the country. I have listened to your stories, learned from your experiences, and witnessed the remarkable ways you strengthen neighborhoods, uplift families, and create opportunity. Those encounters have been priceless memories that I will always carry with me throughout my journey. They reflect the true servant leadership spirit of our work: We Are One.

As I conclude my service as President, my heart is filled with deep gratitude for your trust, your collaboration, and your belief in our common purpose. In unity, we have built momentum that will continue to expand opportunities and provide access to communities that need it most. Collectively, we have shown what is possible when leadership, vision, and collaboration move forward with intention. Through shared purpose, we will continue to meet the moment, rise to the challenge, and pursue the dream of affordable homes in thriving communities for all.

It has been my highest honor to serve and work alongside the brilliance that makes up our NAHRO Family.
