HUD Announces Recipients for FY 2017 Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program 

Recently, HUD announced the recipients of the FY 2017 Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP). HUD has awarded $43 million to 11 communities, including 5 rural communities, for projects that “support a wide range of housing programs including rapid rehousing, permanent supportive housing, transitional housing, and host homes.”  HUD developed the YHDP with recommendations from young people who had experienced homelessness. HUD also incorporated these individuals in the application review process to ensure applicants “understood the needs and preferences of the young people they will serve.” Recipient communities include, San Diego, Calif., Louisville, Ky., Boston, Mass., Northwest Minnesota (rural), Nebraska (rural), Northern New Mexico (rural), Columbus, Ohio, Nashville, Tenn., Vermont (rural), Washington (rural), Snohomish, Wash.

Corrected CPD Funding Matrix Reports Posted

HUD has reposted the CPD Funding Matrix Reports as of July 10, 2018 on the HUD Exchange due to a correction in the data. The reports provide funding information for each city and state that receive CPD program funds, including Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Continuum of Care (CoC), Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG), HOME, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA), and Housing Trust Fund (HTF). Grantees with additional questions should contact their local field office.
