Housing agencies can play a transformative role in moving residents from rental assistance to homeownership—but success requires more than a single program. This session showcases how Fresno Housing and its community partners created multiple pathways to homeownership by aligning affordable housing development, local government investment, HUD homeownership programs, and community-based counseling. Using Heritage Estates as the primary case study, panelists representing a housing authority, local government, and a nonprofit community development organization will demonstrate how coordinated financing, down payment assistance, homebuyer education, and innovative homeownership strategies expanded opportunities for low-income families. Attendees will leave with practical ideas to build partnerships, leverage resources, and implement scalable homeownership initiatives in their own communities.
