A Fourth of July Message from NAHRO CEO Mark Thiele
Dear NAHRO Member,
This weekend, we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and our 250th birthday as a country.
Two hundred and fifty years ago, our founders staked everything on a shared belief: that people deserve the chance to build a decent life, and that a nation is only as strong as the opportunity it offers its people. That belief is what brought us all to this work. A safe, affordable home is an integral part of the American dream, and the foundation that everything else is built on: stable families, strong schools, healthy local economies, and communities where people can thrive.
On this Fourth of July, we hold a shared mission in common. Every one of you — in housing authorities and agencies in every state and territory — is working toward the same thing: an America where everyone has a place to call home. And that’s worth celebrating.
Thank you for all you do, and here’s to the next 250 years of building thriving communities with affordable homes for all.
