Thank you #HousersAtWork

One year ago this month, NAHRO launched the #HousersAtWork campaign to spotlight and recognize the work of our member public housing agencies as they responded to the COVID-19 health crisis. What started as a way to amplify stories of our members persevering during unprecedented times has expanded to more than 180 that highlight the everyday ways that you strive to better the lives of your residents and staff.
From providing face masks and personal protective equipment to residents, to teaming up with local partners to offer fresh, affordable food and produce, to partnering with nonprofits to give students access to free Wi-Fi and laptops, to continuing to find ways to keep people housed at a time when having a home matters most — NAHRO is reminded again and again of the work our dedicated #Housers are doing day in and day out. We have thoroughly enjoyed sharing your stories with both our membership and a wider audience through our various social media platforms.
With the increased access to vaccines and the country beginning to reopen, now is an appropriate time to close the #HousersAtWork campaign. We will continue to highlight the good work of our members in other ways, though, so please stay tuned to future Direct News emails and our Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts!
