This training equips attendees with the foundational knowledge needed to effectively administer the program and support its mission of assisting low-income families. Participants will explore key topics including program structure\, applicant eligibility\, income and asset verification\, rent calculation\, voucher issuance\, and continued occupancy. \nThe training includes updated definitions and income inclusions/exclusions permitted under HUD’s current HOTMA guidance. Participants will learn how to process cases using today’s requirements\, with a brief overview of future HOTMA changes to reduce surprises down the line. \nThrough hands-on exercises and real-world case studies\, participants will build practical skills in calculating annual and adjusted income\, determining rent\, applying utility allowances\, and completing total tenant payment (TTP) calculations. HCV Essentials prepares participants for certification and equips them with the skills to confidently administer the HCV program whether they’re new to the field or strengthening their foundation. \nPlease note: This course focuses on current processing requirements and does not include training on HOTMA income or asset calculation procedures.
