DESCRIPTION:The Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) program is an amazing program designed to enable PHA participants to achieve economic independence by leveraging public and private resources. \nIn this training we will view the program from all perspectives starting from the regulations that are the foundation of the program and the Action Plan\, which provides the administrative framework for the program. We will explore the program through the lens of a case manager who runs the program\, delving into the role of the program partners\, the supports from the PHA/Agency\, the Program Coordinating Committee\, accounting and the community. \nWe’ll work on our motivational interviewing skills and explore goal setting techniques to \nBuild your interviewing skills and completing the Individual Training and Services Plan (ITSP)\, calculating escrow\, evaluating your programs success and understanding reporting requirements. \nYou will also acquire the skills and knowledge needed to develop and support a compliant\, successful and innovative FSS program. SUMMARY:NSPIRE for Public Housing
DESCRIPTION:This program is designed for the Public Housing Program that is now required to implement the new inspection program known as National Standards for the Physical Inspections of Real Estate (NSPIRE).  This is not the HCV programs course.  \n\n\nHUD has begun a complete review and revamp of the Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) inspection protocols for public housing and other assisted housing programs. This training will help attendees understand the new standards\, the scoring system and the impact of the deficiencies identified during the inspection. Agencies are completely transitioning from UPCS to NSPIRE and need to start preparing for the implementation of NSPIRE.  \n\n\nDuring this training\, participants will learn about the new NSPIRE protocol\, including the new 63 standards\, types of deficiencies\, impact on the scoring\, and administration. The training will include photos of actual deficiencies so individuals will understand the new criteria\, the difference in life-threatening\, severe\, moderate and low. The 3 areas of the inspection will be covered- Outside\, inside\, and unit. Get your agency ready for implementing the new protocol.  \n\n\nWe will take you deep into the standards\, the impact of each deficiency\, and provide methods to focus on and correct life-threatening and severe conditions to improve an agencies scores for PHAS. \nAfter completing this training\, participants will be able to: \n\nProvide a greater understanding of the new inspection requirements and standards\nProvide methods to improve the scores of the Public Housing Program\nObtain a better understanding of inspectable areas and the levels of deficiencies\nProvide foundation information that can be used by all personnel as a guide to the standards and processes
