DESCRIPTION:Description:\nThere are many training courses that focus on regulations\, policies\, and procedures. What has been missing (and what is often asked for) is a “how to” training with opportunities for skill building and here it is! To bridge this gap\, this course has been designed by and for service coordinators including FSS\, ROSS\, Continuum of Care and other service coordination programs to fill this need.   \nWe know the skill sets required to build case management or coaching relationships with our program participants are divergently different than those required of other housing authority staff. In this course you will learn case management essentials\, the art of developing community resources and collaborations as well as how to utilize client centered communication techniques in developing a successful relationship with your clients. This will be an interactive training. Be ready to “roll up your sleeves” and “get your hands dirty”. Learn and apply new skills and techniques to manage your service coordination program. \nObjectives:\nAfter completing this training\, participants will be able to:\n-Be “People Focused/Client Centered”\n-Define Self Sufficiency utilizing global and local perspectives\n-Quantify individual requirements to become Self Sufficient and/or “age in place”\n-Identify your role and limitations in the case management/coaching process\n-Know when to call in the experts and how to find them\n-Assess participants’ needs and strengths utilizing Motivational and Strengths Based Interviewing techniques\n-Identify Executive Functioning skill levels of their clients and develop strategies to increase underutilized skills while encouraging use of high functioning skills on obtaining goals\n-Turn client assessments into clear concise goals and measurable activities\, as well as monitor and manage goals\n-Identify and coordinate resources and referrals\n-Know when the contract is completed

If so\, this training is for you.  \nRegardless of housing type\, managing staff\, budgets and outcomes is a challenging job.  We want to help you successfully manage your maintenance program and meet your agency’s expectations.  This training is not specific to any housing program\, or funding source\, instead focusing on key areas and strategies for efficient and effective maintenance operations.  \nProactively\, effectively\, and efficiently managing your maintenance program is key to preserving housing assets\, ensuring compliance\, and meeting your organization’s strategic goals\, regardless of program or subsidy type.   \nThis training will provide Maintenance Supervisors\, Property Managers\, Lead Maintenance Technicians and other key staff with the essential knowledge and skills to identify property goals and needs\, ensure preventative maintenance is performed\, manage day-to-day operations\, supervise and train employees\, and create and implement effective maintenance and emergency plans.   \nIf you manage a maintenance program for Public Housing or a mix of Public Housing and other housing programs\, we recommend you register for the ”Managing Public Housing Maintenance” training\, which will include everything covered in this training along with Public Housing specific information. \nObjectives:\nAfter completing this training\, you’ll be able to:\n-Assess your real estate portfolio\, plan for asset replacement and develop a budget and strategies to meet owner goals\n-Develop property level maintenance plans and key performance indicators\n-Identify primary roles and responsibilities of maintenance supervisors and managers\n-Identify the skills necessary for effective maintenance program management\n-Recognize and apply strategies for effective employee supervision\n-Identify and prioritize key maintenance functions and recognize their impact on asset preservation\n-Demonstrate the ability to assess and prioritize property needs; to develop a plan\, with SMART (specific\, measurable\, achievable\, realistic\, timeframe) goals to effectively manage and maintain high quality housing assets
