DESCRIPTION:This training focuses on Fair Housing laws and regulations for Assisted Housing Programs\, with an emphasis on Public Housing and Housing Vouchers. Together we will explore the basics of Fair Housing and then take a deep dive into processes\, program specific requirements\, best practices\, complaints and resolutions\, ADA/504 standards\, and reasonable accommodation requests\, and how to process them. We will review the various requirements and best practices to ensure a smooth transition between agencies\, ensure correct billing\, absorbing and more! \nAfter completing this training\, participants will be able to: \n\nLocate the HUD guidance and regulations on portability.  \nDetermine who is eligible for portability and the grounds for denial.\nUnderstand roles\, required actions and deadlines of receiving and initial housing authorities and the participant family in the portability process. \nFamiliarize yourself with the extension policies in housing programs.\nNavigate portability intricacies in diverse housing programs.\nLearn billing processes and absorption intricacies.\nOutline responsibilities and documentation\, emphasizing Form 52665.\nExplore special programs like HCV homeownership\, FSS\, VASH\, etc.\nComprehend briefing policies and the effect if administrative plan differences on the families assistance through portability.\nHow portability affects the agency SEMAP and Special Programs including FSS and Homeownership.\nDemonstrate proficiency in housing agency transactions (PIC Codes).\nNavigate portability challenges and address denials adeptly.\nResolve billing issues with other housing agencies.\nUnderstand how administrative fees are determined.
